3 interesting Attractions in Tyrol

Karneval Maske - Museum - Seefeld

There are many attractions in Tyrol. The Golden Roof in Innsbruck, the Achen lake or the Swarovski Crystal Worlds are the most famous ones. But Tyrol has more  to offer.

Carnival Museum Imst

The famous Imst Schemenlaufen Parade is certainly the most important in Tirol if not one of the most important in all the Alps. Months and months of frenzied preparations precede this century-old spectacle, which possesses a mystical attraction no one can resist. Held every four years, the Imst Schemenlaufen was declared a “World Cultural Heritage” by UNESCO in 2012. Now, visitors can experience the fascinating world of Schemenlaufen in this “gem” of a museum, the Carnival Museum: Discover the remarkable history of the Imst carnival parade through special exhibitions, displays and interactive galleries. On display are lavishly decorated headdresses and elaborate wooden masks from time long past and from today. Guided tours of the museum are available by appointment.

The “funny cemetery” in Kramsach

A huge collection of forged grave crosses from five centuries is an attraction worth a visit at the Museum cemetery of the Sagzahnschmiede. The special feature ar the panels on the crosses. Sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful.

A wood exhibition at the power plant

A power plant does not seem as an attractive place to make an excursion. But the exhibition HolzErlebnisWelt FeuerWerk is absolutely worth a visit. You will learn much about wood usage. Those who are interested in nature and technology absolutely have to visit this exhibition.
